Not to be missed on a visit to the museum is the panoramic views of the airfield from the glasshouse atop the control tower. Recreated as it would have looked during the war it provides the perfect spot to survey what would have been a vast military airbase.

The glasshouse in the control tower sounds like a fantastic vantage point—places like that really help you appreciate the scale and history of the site. I’ve always found that large glass structures, whether historic or modern, come with challenges around glare and temperature control, especially when trying to preserve both the view and the comfort of visitors. On that note, I’ve used https://www.tintfit.com/ for similar applications where maintaining clarity while reducing heat gain was important. It’s a practical way to protect interiors and keep spaces usable without compromising the original character or sightlines.
